PO Mounties March on! Tops Avonworth

PHILIPSBURG – Congratulations to the Philipsburg-Osceola baseball team as they continued its season Monday, defeating Avonworth 4-3 in the first round of the PIAA state competition,

The game went into extras before being decided in the bottom of the eighth with the game tied at three the Mounties were able to push across the winning run to advance to the second round of PIAA state playoff action.

The Mounties got strong pitching efforts from Gavin Emigh and Denny Prestash who combine led for nine strike outs in the contest.
