Nittany Valley 12Us pushes Indiana to the brink, finishes as Regional runner up

PORT MATILDA – They went down fighting. The Nittany Valley Little League 12Us took things down to the last inning in the championship game in regional action Saturday, falling to Indians 3-2.

Both teams were strong on the rubber on Saturday, but Indiana was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over Nittany Valley on Saturday.

Nittany Valley fired up the offense in the first inning.

Daelyn Bisil got the start for Indiana. The pitcher surrendered two runs on five hits over six innings, striking out one.

Grace Ammerman led Nittany Valley with two hits in two at bats.

Tenley Anderson went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Indiana in hits.  Indiana  was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Samantha Martin had the most chances in the field with five.

First game

Nittany Valley wins contest against Indiana in the first game on Saturday,  6-1.

Nittany Valley got on the board in the first inning.  Adrienne Masullo drove in one when she singled.

Masullo pitched Nittany Valley to victory. The lefty lasted six innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out seven.

Nittany Valley saw the ball well today, racking up seven hits in the game.  Sloan Moore and Nora Brown each managed multiple hits for Nittany Valley.  Brown and Moore all had two hits to lead Nittany Valley.  Nittany Valley didn’t commit a single error in the field. Ella Herr had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.

Indiana collected four hits on the day.  Samantha Martin and Claire Brewer all had multiple hits for Indiana.
