Penns Valley defeats Juniata in road contest

The Penns Valley baseball team chipped its way on the scoreboard slowly taking a 4-0 advantage before Juniata would get on the scoreboard, taking the win 4-1.

Ty Houtz picked up the win on the day as he defeated Dawson Harper.

Picking up the save for Penns Valley was Dakota Brodzina.

After a scoreless first by both teams, the Rams got on the scoreboard posting a run in the top of the inning.

Houtz cruised through the fifth. His team added two more runs to bump up the lead to 3-0.

The Penns Valley offense continued to roll adding one more in the sixth.

Juniata refused to go down without a fight as they picked up a run in their final at bats to spoil the shut out bud.

Offensively, Penns Valley got strong efforts at the plate by Ty Houtz (2-for-4 with 2 singles and 1 run scored), Miles Brooks (2-for-4 with 2 singles and 1 run scored), Mason Lieb (2-for-3 with 2 doubles and 1 RBI), Maclain Welshans (2-for-4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI’s) and Hayden Houser (2-for-3 with 2 singles).

Penns Valley’s overall record improves to 5-6 with a Mountain League Record of 3-4.

Next game for Penns Valley is tommorrow, May 4th vs BEA, 4:30 pm.
