Penns Valley falls late to Claysburg-Kimmel

Claysburg-Kimmel played the role of unfriendly host Monday as they doubled up a feisty Penns Valley team 6-3.

Picking up the win for the home team was Olivia Bushore. She finished with five strikeouts, two walks and two hit batters.

Losing pitcher for the Rams were Avery Dinges. Dinges finished with six strikeouts.

Picking up strong performances were Allie O’Brien (single, double, run scored), Avery Dinges (double, RBI, stolen base), Kendra Bumgardner (stolen base), Noelle Webb (run scored), Jordan Anderson (single, HR, 2 RBIs, run scored), Ellie Coursen (2 singles), Avelyn Van Heyst (single) and Scotty Dinges (single).

Penns Valley took an early lead posting a 3-1 advantage until the fourth but then Claysburg posted five runs in the fourth and fifth en route to the victory.
