Saint Joseph’s Academy tops PO in girls action

Though they might not of picked up the win, the Philipsburg-Osceola girls basketball team battle tough in their game against Saint Joseph’s Academy Wednesday, 5533.

“This was by far our best overall

game of the year. Played well for about 25-26 mins, those other 6-7 minutes we gave them too many easy looks at the basket and it cost us,” said PO coach Brandon Meyers.

“We’re 0-15 and host Harmony tomorrow at 6:30 to end our season.”

Leading the scoring for the Lady Mounties was Megan Holencik with 12.

Teammates Camden Potter and Khendyl Sharrer both finished with six.

Saint Joe’s opened the game leading to a 15-10 after the first quarter.

The Wolfpack took care of the second period as well, outscoring  Philipsburg-Osceola 18-8.

Going into the intermission, the Lady Wolves led 33-18.

Saint Joe’s came out of the half and outscored East Juniata 20-7.

That would be all the Wolves would need as they went onto the victory.
