SC signing day celebrates 42 athletes moving to next level

STATE COLLEGE – It was a night for celebration and jubilation after such a tough Covid-19 dominated school year.

It was a signing day like no other Wednesday at the State College North gymnasium as 42 student-athletes declared that they are taking their talents to the collegiate level. The athletes ranged from lacrosse to swimming, baseball to basketball, field hockey to wrestling, etc.

The night would be one that not many schools could boast about.

Honored on the night were Grady Ballard(Penn State/Altoona/ soccer), Nate Polo (Penn /Baseball), Matt Lingenfelter (Lock Haven/Baseball), Casie Eifrig (Amherst/track and field), Will Kerber (Wake Forest/Ice Hockey), Lilly Johnson (Itheca/track and field), Jarod Leynes (Hiram/volleyball), Vanessa McGhee(Penn State/volleyball), Luca Capparelli (Lock Haven/track and field), Aiden Spitler (IUP/football), Rebecca Bonness (American University/field hockey), Sasha Mohonuk (PSU Barron/soccer), Maddie Tanbroni (Penn State/field hockey), Alex Hlivia (PSU Altoona/ baseball), Jordan Reed (Davidson/track and field), Matt Meenges (Penn State/Altoona/baseball), Anna Collins (Lock Haven/Lacrosse), Lance Urbas (Penn/wrestling), Harrison Schoen (Thaddeus Stevens/Wrestling), Maddie Koehle (west Chester/swimming), Emerson Martin (Howard/football), Conrad Moore (Penn/track and field), Ariana Angus (William Smith/Lacrosse), Carson Franks (Dartmoth/football), Lizzie Paterno (Robert Morris/Lacrosse), Kacy Sekunda (Layola MD/Volleyball), Colleen Adams(UMBC/swimming), Karsyn Kane (App. State/cross country), Megan Lieb (Kenyon/basketball),Lizzie Curtain (Saint Mary’s/track and field), Bayla Furmanek (Babson/field hockey), Erica Beyer (So. Others moving on were Jake Cooper, Garrett Holzapfel, Trey Oyler and Dresyn Green.
