State College baseball outlasts CD

The State College Little Lions baseball outsted Central Dauphin 6-2 on Tuesday.

The Rams opened the scoring in the first after Logan Snyder grounded out, scoring two runs.

Sebastian Rhoades grounded out, which helped State College tie the game at two in the top of the third.

A fielder’s choice by Zach Mazer gave the Little Lions the lead, 4-2, in the top of the fourth.

Samuel Janik earned the win for State College. The starting pitcher allowed two hits and two runs (one earned) over six innings, striking out five and walking two.

Gino Pighetti collected the save.

Little Lions’ FinnPowers made the most of their chances at the plate. The number eight hitter led the team with two hits in three at bats. Jensen Chesnut, Mazer, Powers, and Rhoades each drove in one run for State College.

The Little Lions turned one double play in the game.

Charlie Long, Jace Collins, Brady B, and Connor Heber each collected one hit for Central Dauphin. Snyder led Central Dauphin with one run batted in.

State College plays at home on Saturday against DuBois Central Catholic in their next game.
