State College Field Hockey honors seniors with win over Carlisle

STATE COLLEGE – It was a beautiful night on Memorial Field as State College honored 20 seniors, Nine from the Carlisle Thundering Herd, and 11 from State College. Senior Phebe Herlocher paced the Little Lions with two goals on the night en route to the 2-0 shut out.

The first half action was back and forth ending scoreless. State College came out in the second half controlling much of the play, tallying 17 shots on goal to Carlisle’s three. Senior co-captain Phebe Herlocher scored in both the 3rd and 4th quarters to secure the home team victory. Carlisle goalie had 14 saves on the night.

State College Varsity is now 7-2 and 6-1 in MPC Commonwealth division.

Next game State College hosts Mifflin County, Wednesday October 6, 2021.
