Cubbison cruises to first place finish against Carlisle and Cumberland Valley

On September 28, the Mifflin County girls cross country team at faced two really strong teams, Cumberland Valley and Carlisle at the CV course. Kylee Cubbison cruised her way into an easy first place victory over both opponents with a time of 19:49. She ran strong through the entire race despite coming off the Foundation race on Saturday and basically running up front by herself the majority of the time. Addie Parson ran a great race and chased down an opponent near the end of the race to secure the number 3 position with a time of 21:29. That was a big win for her confidence as she tracks toward continuing improvement through the season. She came away with her season best time. Justice Sheaffer ran tough and stuck with a few girls from Carlisle throughout the race. She managed to pass at least one of them, maybe two. Maggie Rodenbaugh came away knocking nearly an entire minute off her season best. She looked much stronger tonight and is beginning to really see the results of her diligence to keep training and pushing herself. “We came so close to taking a win with Carlisle but just couldn’t quite secure the positions that we needed in conjunction with what Kylee and Addie did up front,” said Mifflin County coach Neil Breneman. “Each of the girls can walk away from this meet feeling good about the effort they put in and seeing that they are continuing to grow stronger.”
