State College field hockey wins 2-1 thriller over CV

State College Field Hockey defeats Cumberland Valley 2-1 in a high paced well matched game. Cumberland Valley’s #32 Samantha put CV on the board first 8 minutes into the 2nd quarter. 5 minutes later State College drove down the field earned a corner and Maddy Shomo knocked it in off a Phebe Herlocher assist. The exciting action continued through halftime. Deep in the 3rd, sophomore Olivia Miller punched it past CV’s goalkeeper for the game winner. The shots and penalty corners statistics were even at 11 SC – 13 CV shots, 4 SC – 5 CV penalty corner.
