They went down fighting; Juniata tennis falls in opening round of PIAAs
The Juniata tennis team’s historical run this season came to an end, Tuesday in the first round of the PIAA state tennis playoffs.
The Indians fell to a tough Conrad Wiser squad, falling 5-0.
Juniata’s Max Lauver fell in a close match 5-7, 4-6.
Adam French fell to Jayden Lewis 2-6, 0-6.
Rounding out the singles action was Gavin Kint’s loss to Alexander Waite 4-6 and 4-6.
In doubles action, the combo of Jack Strawser and Emmitt Hibbs fell to Conrad’s Mark Yazembowski and Aaron Pearson 4-6, 1-6.
The Juniata combo of Zach Marshall and Xane Whitesel fell to Adam Noll and Carter Altland 5-7, 0-6.
Juniata ends its magical season with a record of 15-3.
