Three in three days; Lady Raiders wins again

Another night, another tough Mountain League softball battle.

In the first contest that put Penns Valley against Bellefonte, the Lady Rams picked up the victory.

So Monday night, the Lady Raiders returned the favor as they tied the season series with an 8-2 road win.

Lexi Rogers picked up the win for the Red Raiders as she went the distance, scattering six hits, two runs, none of which were earned and set down eight Ram batters.

Penns Valley’s Kendra Bumgardner took the loss going five innings, allowing eight hits, seven runs two and strike outs.

Top hitters for Bellefonte were Mallorie Smith (3-for-4, 2 2B, 1RBI) Hanna Lauck (1-for-4, HR), Lexi Rogers (2-for-2, 2B, HR 1RBI), Sara DeHaas (2-for-3, 2B), Emily Pugh (1-for-3, 2B, 2RBI) and Emma DeHaas (1-for-3, 2B RBI).

The Rams got strong offensive outings from Kaylah Thompson (1-for-3), Bumgardner (1-for-3), Kailen Winkelblech (2-for-4, 2B) and Ryah Thompson (2-for-3)

Bellefonte took the early 5-0 advantage, posting two runs in the second and three in the third.

The Lady Rams got on the scoreboard, plating one in the bottom of the third.

However, Bellefonte pushes back with two more in the fifth and one in the seventh, while Penns Valley only found the plate once more and that was in the sixth, ending the score at 8-2 and giving the Lady Raiders its third victory in three days.
