Bald Eagle girls fall to Bison 3-1

After a strong opening period goal by Bald Eagle Area’s Falen McHenry, the Eagles battled strong but fell to Clearfield 3-1 in Mountain League action Tuesday.

Clearfield led in shots on goal and in corners by an 11-5 and 6-2 margins, respectively.

In the saves department, the Eagles’ Mackenzie Vozniak saved eight while Clearfield’s Jaylee Gill finished with four.

Bald Eagle led off the scoring when

McHenry scored off a pass from Heather Leskovansky at 4:45.

Late in the half, Clearfield tied the game on a goal at 33:56.

Clearfield chipped on in at 38:26. The Bison added a late goal at 67:30 to put the game out of reach.

“We jumped out to a quick lead but then let them get the best of us. Hats off to Clearfield, they are a good team with a lot of great players. They had us on our heels for most of the first half. We looked much better in the second half but couldn’t cash in on our chances unfortunately,” said Bald Eagle Area coach Jared Moore.
