Bald Eagle tops St. Joseph’s Academy in weekend action

Saturday, the Bald Eagle girls soccer team continued to build it momentum as it defeated St. Joseph’s Academy 5-1.

The Lady Eagles outshot the Wolves 15-4 and led in corner opportunities 4-1.

Bald Eagle goalie Angelina Grieb talked three saves while St. Joe’s K. Pase finished with 10.

“We did well possessing the ball but we were having trouble finding opportunities to score there for a while, but the girls settled down and found a rhythm,” said Bald Eagle coach Jared Moore. “Sarah Holler and Falen McHenry created quite a few chances for us. Overall, it was a really great team effort.”

St. Joe’s C. Marsh led the scoring. , But back came through Lady Eagles’ Heather Leskovansky scored off a Falen McHenry assist at 20:00.

BEA Sarah Holler gave her team the lead on an unassisted goal at 43:59.

BEA upped its lead to 3-1 on an Abby Hoover shot off a McHenry pass at 46:07.

Holler continued the scoring spree, thanks to a hook up from Maura Cingle. She scored on a header off a corner 54:20.

McHenry picked up a goal her own thanks to a pass from Abby Hoover at 70:28.

BEA ups it’s record to 5-2-1 overall and 3-2-1 Mountain League.

Next Game for BEA is at Philipsburg Monday.
