Bald Eagles fall on road to Spunky Tyrone team
After a busy week of playing some of the toughest teams in the Mountain League, the Lady Eagles softball team lost their final game of the week, falling 2-0 to a scrappy Tyrone team on the road.
Winning pitcher on the night was Batam who didn’t allow a run on two hits. She had eight strike outs and no walks.
The Losing pitcher was Maddie Peters who had two unearned runs go against her and three hits to go with eight strike outs.
Top hitters on the night for Bald Wagle were Maddie Perry (double) and Marina Shawley (single).
“The skinny was we just ran out of mojo after the 3 games we had already played,” said Bald Eagle Area coach Don Lucas. “Peters pitched very well but we committed an uncharacteristic five errors. Not to take anything away from Tyrone. They put the ball in play . Did what they needed to do to win. Their pitcher Baran pitched very well also. She kept us uncomfortable in the batters box all game. “
Next game vs Bellefonte at home next Tuesday at 4:30.
