Bellefonte XC competes strong at Hershey

The Bellefonte boys’ team fared well Saturday at the Foundation Invitational at Hershey.

The Raiders finished 13 out of 34 schools and three out of the seven runners Chase Ebeling (18:03),Alex Crist (18;36) and Aaron Carlini (19:56) finished under 20 minutes.  It was almost 75 degrees when they ran.  “I was very happy with what they accomplished yesterday,” said Bellefonte coach Carla Cipro.

The JV runners all completed their races – they ran in the highest of heat after almost 8 hours of sitting on a course that had been trampled by hundreds of runners before them.  And they all persevered.

“I am very happy with their efforts,” said Cipro.

The boys JV team earned 15 out of 27 teams.  There was one in the girls JV, so that race wasn’t scored in the team rankings – but there were 28 schools in that race.

“The girls’ team has been struggling with asthma and injury issues, so I was very happy that everyone finished their race,” said Cipro. “It’s a difficult course and it was a warm day, but they all pulled through.  They earned 24 out of 36 teams.”

On Tuesday, Bellefonte will race against Bald Eagle Area at Bellefonte’s home course at Governor’s Park.  The race will start at 4:00.
