They never gave up.

Even in defeat, small victories can be found.

Such was the case with the BMS Thunder basketball team Monday night at home.

In their game against Forbes Road, the Belleville Mennonite boys basketball battled to the bitter end after falling behind early.

In the end, Forbes Road took home the 64-37 victory.

Leading the way offensively for the Thunder was Tristin Henderson with 11 points and three boards.

The Thunder also got seven from Jared Flood.

Frankie Pannizzo scored four and finished seven rebounds on the night.

Posting five in the contest was David Yoder. He also finished with two boards.

Others posting a strong rebounding effort was Zac Snook with five, Ben Aungst and Seth Hertzog with four each.

The visitors had its inside and outside game going strong in the first half, leading 38-15.

Leading the way in the half was Grayson Hall with 14 while teammate Justin Garmon had eight.

Henderson paced the Thunder with five.

Belleville Mennonite heated up in the second half.

After a slow start to the second half, being outscored 8-0, taking a 46-17 advantage, the Thunder came chipping its way back, outscoring Forbes 11-8 the rest of the half, making it 53-25 going into final stanza.

The Thunder outscored Forbes Road 12 to 11 in the fourth quarter but it was too little to late.

However, the effort shown by the Thunder was one of a never say-die-attitude.
