Burd paced Bellefonte in win over PO

A strong start lead to a clutch Mountain League victory Monday as the Bellefonte baseball team took care of Philipsburg-Osceola 9-2.
The Red Raiders were paced by Colton Burd as he smashed a grand slam. CJ Funk also blazed a round tripper in the contest.
Teammate Colby Koleno was the only Red Raider multiple hitter.
Pitcher Adam Armstrong, was tough on the mound, refusing to allow any Mounties’ multi hitters.
PO finished with only four hits and was struck out seven times.
Defensively, the Mounties committed six errors on the night.
Burd smoked a first inning grand slam to get the game going, giving them a 4-0 lead.
The Mounties battled back for one run in the bottom of the inning, making it 4-1 as the game hit the second inning.
Bellefonte added one run each in the third and fourth.
In the fifth, PO picked up its second run of the game.
But the Red Raiders put the game away in the sixth, plating three runs in the inning.
That would be all the Red Raiders would need to pick up the victory.
