Former Mifflin County Husky is among the CCBL Elite!

STATE COLLEGE – Isaiah Kearns along with many others were named to the Centre County Baseball League all-stars.
Kearns was the lone Foxpro Predator to be given a first team selection as the first team’s third baseman. According to the CCBL website, Kearns had an average of .377 with 10 home runs, four doubles, 10 RBIs and scored 17 runs. Kearns also was a big part on the mound for Foxpro as well.
The Spike Island Pirates scored the most first team selections in 2023 with four selections in Ryan Whitehead, Jeremy Whitehead, Mike Kitko and Nate Gustkey.
Ryan Whitehead and Mike Kitko were selected as pitchers. Whitehead according to the CCBL website pitched in 20 innings and collected 27 strikeouts while Kitko went 16 innings and had dropped 26 batters via a strikeout.
Gustkey was selected as the DH of the first team and had a batting average of .449, 22 hits, six doubles and 13 RBIs. Meanwhile for Jeremy Whitehead averaged .444 at the plate along with 28 hits, seven doubles and 15 RBIs and was named an outfielder.
The Blanchard Bees have three members were joined the first team in Asher and Toner Corl along with Dylan Broderick.
Asher Corl was named the catcher for the CCBL first team and had an average of .412, 21 hits, 24 runs scored, a double and a triple.
Toner Corl was placed in the shortstop position with a batting average of .347, 17 hits, 15 runs scored and had four doubles.
Dylan Broderick was named an outfielder. During the season, Broderick batted .367, compiled 11 hits as well as 11 runs scored and had three doubles.
Dan Cole and Bryce Greene of the Howard Hawks were placed on the first team with Greene at second base while Cole was at first base. Cole averaged .319 at the plate, 15 hits and eight doubles. Meanwhile Greene collected a batting average of .435 to go along with 20 hits, 18 runs scored, three doubles and a triple.
Alex Lose was the lone Lamont Duck to the CCBL first team as an outfielder. Lose was .423 at the plate while having 22 hits, 16 runs scored, three doubles and two triples.
