Juniata football team picks up strong road win over Halifax

Playing yet another game on the road, the Juniata football team came home victorious Friday night topping Halifax 41-26.

First Quarter Summary:

Halifax led off the scoring in the first when Ryan Stahl caught an 11-yard TD pass from Micah Dietrich. The Juniata defense blocked the PAT. However, the Wildcats led 6-0 at 10:12.

Juniata bounced back in the second quarter to take the lead

Caleb Seeger blazed his way from 25-yards out for the TD run. Ben Wagner was successful on the kick ,giving the Indians a 7-6 at the 11:38 mark.

The Wildcats refused to trail as Halifax found the end zone for the second time when Bryce Enders blew his way through the line scoring on a 1-yard touchdown run. Carter Enders’ kick out his team up 13:7 at 6:04.

The Indians weren’t done yet as they were able to take the lead before the intermission.

Hunter Treaster notched a clutch interception that he would score off, taking a 10-yd interception return into the end zone. Wagner again kicked the Indians into the lead at 14-13.

Coming out of the half, the Indians added to its lead.

Jacob Condo completes a drive going for a 1-yard TD run. Wagner again was successful bringing the game to a 21-13 Contest.

Things would blow up offensively in the final stanza as the two combined to score five times.

Halifax went to Bryce Enders 6-yard run. After a failed conversion pass failed the Wildcats still trailed 19-21.

But Juniata battled back to extend its lead once again. Mikah Hunt brought down a 34-yard pass from Condo. Another Wagner kick upped the score to 28-19.

Juniata was at again in the final minutes this time Jace White picked up a 10-yard pass upping 34-19 Juniata scored its last points on a  Yaniel Ortiz 57-yard run. With the successful PAT the Indians led 41-19.

Halifax tried to make the comeback for the win but only got a Bryce Enders Eight-play. They got just a kick from Carter Enders. Enders kick with 1.9 seconds left.

However, it was too little too late for Halifax that they fell 41-26 to Juniata.
