Lady Eagles shut out Bearcats
The Bald Eagle girls soccer team posted a shut out Thursday night as they topped Huntingdon 2-0.
Huntingdon led in the shots on goal department by a 13-8 margin but the Eagles made their shots count en route to the win.
Bald Eagles got a strong effort by goalie by Rachel Veneziano who snagged 13. Huntingdon while Huntingdon’s Mallory Woodward had 6.
“What an intense game from the start. Probably one of the best games I have ever seen. What a quick eye by Zoey McHenry to chip the keeper. Huntingdon had us on our heels for a bit of the game, but after Rach saved that penalty kick in the second half the girls just flipped a switch and controlled the pace of the game,” said Bald Eagle coach Jared Moore. “I was so proud of how the girls played tonight. They played with passion and as a unit. It was pretty to watch. It was a hard fought win and hats off to Huntingdon. They played with a ton of heart.”
BEA is 2-0 overall and 2-0 the Mountain League.
Zoey McHenry got the scoring started on an unassisted goal at 2:55while Falen McHenry on an unassisted goal, hit the final goal the 57-minute to clinch it.
