Lady Rams soccer team tops Tyrone in OT

The Penns Valley girls got back to its winning ways Thursday in their game against Tyrone.

In overtime, Penns Valley able to come out the winners of a 6-4 victory.

“With it being Senior Night for us, we knew it would be an emotional night as we honored our ten seniors.  We didn’t know that it would end up being as exciting though.  Tonight saw great minutes from a lot of girls and while we were able to jump out to a solid lead, we struggled to hold on and see out the game,” said Penns Valley Head Coach Andrew Beverly.  “Anna Korman scored a fantastic volley off of a corner kick but ultimately it was senior Hannah Montminy’s night as she delivered 3 goals and 2 assists, including the game winner in overtime.  This group of seniors have done so much for our program and we are so happy to come away with a tough win on their night.”

Penns Valley’s Hannah Montminy, who captures a hat trick on the night, scored first on an assist by Amber Cowher at 1:39.

Tyrone’s Chloe LaRosa, who also captured a hat trick, tied things at on an unassisted goal at 2:07.

Penns Valley took back the lead when Nikki Denger got a pass and scored on an assist by Montminy at 21:50.

Montminy on an assist by Maria Lovallo made it 3-1 at 22:53.

Anna Korman  gave the Lady Rams a little space on an assist by Montminy at 44:15.

LaRosa scores the next two goals, closing the Wagles deficit to 4-3 at 51:11 and 71:12.

With time running out in the game, the Eagles Cate Baran scores on a penalty kick at 77:22,l.

Montminy brought the game to a halt on an assist by Elli Stamm at 86:42.

Penns Valley outshot Tyrone 22- 13.

Saves: Penns Valley goalie Kylie Auman has six saves while Tyrone’s Rayann Walls had 11.

Both teams tied in corner kicks at three.

Penns Valley’s record is now 6-6-1 and our next game is on 10/7at Huntingdon.
