MC Girls victorious against Notre Dame-Green Pond

BERWICK – In the opening game of the Christmas break for the Lady Huskies, the MC girls pulled out a strong 44-37 victory against Norte Dame Green Pond.

Leading the way for Mifflin County was Hannah Aumiller with a 14-point effort for the only double-digit scorer for the Huskies.

Molly Wagoner finished with nine while Brianna Bodtorf and teammate Fern Selfies both chipped in eight each.

In the first, the two teams played to a stalemate as both posted 12 in the period.

Leading the offense on the night for Notre Dame-Green Pond was Grace Meolei with 13.  

Going into the intermission, the Huskies clamped down hard on defense, allowing just three.

However, the Lady Huskies were able to post 11, taking a 23-15 advantage into the break.

Wagoner paced the way with a 4-point effort.

In the third, Notre Dame took its turn as it outscored Mifflin County 13-11, setting the stage for a close fourth period.

In the final stanza, Mifflin County still led 34-28.

Mifflin County also took care of the fourth quarter, taking a 10-9 advantage en route to the 7-point victory.
