Nittany Valley 12s muscle out tough victory over Huntingdon

The Nittany Valley girls 12U All-Stars lived to play another day Friday, topping Huntingdon in a nail biting 5-4 victory in the bottom bracket of Regional Competition.

The team bounced back from a heartbreaking 8-7 extra inning contest against Indians on Thursday to work its way back to a possible meeting with them.

Leading the team on the mound was Abby Herr.

Nittany Valley broke out early posting two runs in the first inning and then one in the third.

Huntingdon battled back in the game, posting four runs in the fifth to take a brief lead.

But Nittany Valley would not be denied in this night, retaliating with two runs in the bottom of the inning and then holding Huntingdon scoreless in its last at bats, continuing their successful season.

Offensively, Nittany Valley was led by  Sloan Moore going 3-for-3 with an RBI.

Ella Herr had a strong day at the plate, posting two hits and an RBI in the victory.

Others notching hits for Nittany Valley were Harper Bair, Adrienne Masullo, Abby Herr, Peyton Norfolk, Lily Park and Grace Ammerman.

All-in-All, Nittany Valley pounded out 11 hits en route to the victory.
