Spring Creek tops Fox Pro in Friday contest

Spring Creek Shockers 11, Foxpro Predators 8
LEWISTOWN – Foxpro fought tooth and nail till the very but ultimately just could not overcome their mistakes on defense as the Spring Creek Shockers defeated the Predators 11-8 Friday night at Mifflin County High School.
The Predators committed a total of seven errors throughout the game. But despite the struggles where was a highlight play from AJ Scheffel who snagged an unassisted double play.
Isaiah Kearns was doing some damage at the plate for the Predators and went 3-for-4 for the day which included two monstrous home runs, a double and had five RBIs. Evan Pupo was 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and scored two runs. Dan Brundage also had a multi hit game for Foxpro and batted 2-for-3, had a double, an RBI and a run scored.
For the Shockers, they were led by Alex Evans who went 3-for-5 at the plate including a home run, two singles and had three RBIs. Tom Delahoy and Tim Kessling who each went 2-for-4 with Kessling having a double.
Brundage got the start for the Predators and pitched the first four innings of the game. Brundage had a strikeout and six walks and attempted to get through five innings but was unable to. Evan Pupo finished the fifth inning off and collected two strikeouts. Hayden Snook then pitched the final two innings of the game for the Predators and through those two innings of work, Snook had two strikeouts and only walked one batter.
On the flip side, the Shockers called Jon Pelky to the mound and Pelky delivered five innings and compiled four strikeouts and three walks and collected the win. Evans then took over the last two innings and had a strikeout and one walk to earned the save.
The Foxpro Predators will look to rebound on Tuesday as they will host a make up game against the Howard Hawks.
Meanwhile, Spring Creek will look to keep the winning ways going on Sunday as the Shockers will hit the road to do battle with the Spike Island Pirates.
