State College falls in tough contest against Chambersburg

STATE COLLEGE- The State College Lady Lions stayed in it until the end, but Chambersburg Lady Trojans pulled away late in a 3-2 victory on Wednesday. Chambersburg was down 2-1 in the top of the sixth inning when an error scored two runs.
Both teams were strong in the circle.
The Lady Trojans pitchers struck out nine, while the Lady Lions sat down seven.
State College was the first to get on the board in the fourth when Addison Harpster homered to center field, scoring two runs.
Kori Leedy earned the win for Chambersburg. They allowed zero hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out five and walking one. Harpster took the loss for State College. The right-handed pitcher went seven innings, allowing three runs (one earned) on five hits, striking out seven and walking seven.
Harpster provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the Lady Lions with two runs batted in. They went 1-for-2 on the day. Sydney Wells led State College with two hits in three at bats.
Samantha Paetow went 1-for-3 at the plate as they led the team with one run batted in.
Paetow, Breanne Paetow, Lauren Allison, Addison Gsell, and Sanay Jones each collected one hit for the Lady Trojans. Hensley Brookens led Chambersburg with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game. The Lady Trojans were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Paetow made the most plays with nine.
