Juniata boys soccer post 15 goals in shut out win

It was a dominating night for the Juniata boys soccer team versus Susquenita Wednesdays the Indians found the back of the net 15 times while holding Susquenita scoreless.

Tad Shellenberger finished the night with six goals and two assists.

Teammate Dawson Harper finished a hat trick.

“It was a good evening to get a lot of our younger guys varsity experience,” said Juniata Jared Byler. “Tad Shellenberger had a special evening where he could not miss when he shot the ball on goal. As a team, we still have a lot small things that need to better if we are to reach our goals.”

In the first, the Indians posted seven goals.

Juniata scores at 33:20 when Stuart Dare picked up a pass by Jelvin Cardenas.

Shellenberger notched his first goal for Juniata  at 31:56, assisted by Ben Wagner.

Shellenberger scores the next three goals, scoring unassisted goals at 23:33, 13:48and 13:10.

With 5:50  left in the first, Dawson Harper hit his first goal and less than a minute later her notched another with 5:33 still left.

In the second half, Juniata started scoring again almost right away this time at 39:42 when Jelvin Cardenas got an assist by Stuart Dare.

At 36:54 Cardenas notched another on an assist by Shellenberger.

Juniata’s Shellenberger scored the next two consecutive goals at 35:01 and 29:35.

“Big Red” never slowed down as Harper, 11-0 with an unassisted goal.  Harper scores again at 23:55 adding some more insurance.

As the clock reached 15:11, Noe Montesinos tickled the twine, upping it to 13-0.

Cadyn Kuhn rounded out the scoring hitting the Indians’ last two goals

Juniata led in the shots on goal department by a 22-3 margin and led in corners by a 3-1 margin.
