Juniata Cross Country Team Competed at the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University on Saturday, October 1.

On the boys side, Junior Logan Strawser led the Indians with a 37th place in the Brown race with a time of 16:22.8.  Freshman Joey Bomberger came in next for the Indians with a time of 17:59.4 for 180th place.  Freshman Wyatt Stroup finished next with a time of 18:02.7 for 185th place.   Other Indian runners were Micah Fausey 270th place with a time of 20:19.4, Charlie Telfer in 285th place with a time of 24:57.0, Xander Hunt in 286th place with a time of 25:10.2, and Noah Sheaffer 287th place with a time of 26:00.4.  The boys placed 29th out of 32 teams in the Brown race. Aidan Hodge from Hempfield won the Brown race with a time of 15:16.8.  Coach Jeff Miller said “we had some good performances for the day.  Joey, Wyatt, and Xander all ran personal best.  Logan made some progress from coming back from injury.  He was a little disappointed, but I’m sure he will be there when it matters.  He’s willing to do what it takes to be great!”
On the girls side, sophomore Haley Mummah led the Indians with a 224th place finish in the White race with a time of 25:06.0.  Freshman Jessie Bomberger came in next for the Indians with a time of 26:56.4 for 272nd place.  Elizabeth Gaisior finished in a time of 27:05.4 for 275th place.  Peyton Sheaffer finished in a time of 27:31.5 for 278th place.  The girls did not have a fifth runner to score in the team competition.  Shana Kearney from Bensalem won the girls White race with a time of 18:00.9.  Coach Jeff Miller said “The girls ran with a lot of determination.  Most of them ran personal best times.”
The Juniata Cross Country team will compete next at the TVL Championships held at Susquenita High School on Wednesday, October 6 at 4:15 pm.
