Juniata tennis holds on for narrow win over Lewisburg
Coming through in the clutch.
The Juniata tennis team was taken to the limit by Lewisburg Friday before taking the contest 3-2.
Falling behind 1-0, when Lewisburg’s Evan Cecchini topped Max Lauver 6-1 and 6-0 but the Indians battled right back.
Leading the way in the number second singles spot was Adam French as he topped Henry Schumacher 6-2 and 6-0.
Rounding out singles play, Gavin Kint solidified the Juniata chance for a win when he had a marathon win over Eddie Monaco 6-4, 7-6(7-3).
Jack Strawser and teammate Zach Marshall clinched the victory for Juniata winning 2-6, 6-4 and 6-2.
Lewisburg notched the second doubles match but it wouldn’t be enough as the Indians held on for the victory.
