The week was a strong one for the State College volleyball team as it defeated Altoona in straight sets Thursday.
They also battled its way to a five set victory over Carlisle and a 3-2 win over CD East also in five, posting a perfect 3-0 on the week.
But it would be a learning experience for the young State College Boys Volleyball team Saturday as it hosted the Little Lion Invitational.
State College battled but finished 0-2-1 on the day.
In the opening game of the tournament, the Little Lions came up against a strong front line of Hempfield.
The Black Knights took the match in two games 25-15 and 25-12.
State then took on Central York where it fell victim of a 2-0 sweep which would be a nail biter in both games losing 25-19 and 25-22.
Rounding out the day, the Little Lions split its contest with Senaca Valley, 25-21 and 14-25.
