Lady Rams blank Somerset in softball action

Penns Valley hurler, Taylor Bumgardner was dominant in the circle, as the righty rang up 11 strikeouts in the Lady Rams’ 6-0 victory over Somerset on Thursday. Bumgardner allowed four hits and zero runs over seven innings while walking none.

Penns Valley got on the board in the top of the first inning after Elle Dinges singled, scoring one run, and Bumgardner homered to left field, scoring two runs.

Brooklyn Thomas began the game for Somerset. They gave up 10 hits and six runs (five earned) over seven innings, striking out six and walking one.

The Lady Rams amassed 10 hits in the game. Bumgardner provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Penns Valley with three runs batted in.

The number three hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Gracie Riddle, Dinges, and Bumgardner each collected two hits for the Lady Rams . Penns Valley didn’t commit a single error in the field. Sydnie Dalton had the most chances in the field with 11.

Savannah Landis went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Somerset in hits.

Penns Valley will travel to Central Cambria for their next game on Friday.
