Late Friday action: BEA boys rally to top Penns Valley

A classic Mountain League battle Friday night when Penns Valley went head-to-head with Bald Eagle Area.

It was a tight game but in the end it would be the Eagles that would come out with their hands raised in victory, 56-49.

Bald Eagle’s Kahale Burns led the offensive charge on the night finishing with an 18-point effort.

Alex Gavlock added 12 on the evening while teammate Cam Watkins finished with 10.

Penns Valley got a 13-point effort by Zach Braucht while Logan Crater finished with 11.

It would be the Rams that would jump out to take a big first quarter leading, outscoring the Eagles 15-5.

Braucht led the scoring in the first with six points.

Bald Eagle battled its way back into the ball game in the second as it was able to get its offense rolling for 19 points while holding off the Rams with 16.

When the two went into the intermission, Penns Valley held a 31-24 lead.

The third quarter continued to side on the Eagles as they scored 18 this time and the Rams put in 10, taking the lead going into the third by one.

It would be a lead that the Eagles would hold onto as the final. User sounded, winning 56-49.
