MC15s fall in Saturday contest versus Broomall/Newtown

Broomall/Newton 6, MC 15s 1

The MC Babe Ruth 15U All-Stars fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 6-1 loss to Broomall/Newtown on Saturday.  Broomall/Newtown scored on a walk by Seth Pandoast and an error in the second inning.

Broomall/Newtown opened up scoring in the second inning.  Pandoast drew a walk, scoring one run.

Broomall/Newtown scored three runs in the sixth inning.  The Broomall/Newtown batters contributing to the big inning included Aidin Carran and Donny Reick, all driving in runs in the inning.

Austin Conaty was the winning pitcher for Broomall/Newtown. Conaty went seven innings, allowing one run on eight hits, striking out three and walking one.

Landon Haigh took the loss for MC Babe Ruth 15U All-Stars. The righthander allowed seven hits and three runs over five innings, striking out five.

The MC Babe Ruth 15U All-Stars scattered eight hits in the game.  Evan Strohecker and Gavin Powell each had multiple hits for MC Babe Ruth 15U All-Stars.  Strohecker went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead MC Babe Ruth 15U All-Stars in hits.

Broomall/Newtown collected ten hits on the day.  Carran and Nick Schmitt each managed multiple hits for Broomall/Newtown.  Carran led Broomall/Newtown with three hits in four at bats.
